Deadly Unna? By Phillip Gwynne is a novel based on the fictional one year existence of a 18 year old son named Gary ‘Blacky’ Black. The story shows a producing friendship among Gary, an Anglo-Saxon son and Dumby Red, an Aboriginal boy. One of the main strength themes in this novel is definitely racism, splendour and stereotyping of Aboriginal Australians in society. Native Australians will be one of the most deprived communities nationwide and they are controlled by many racist stereotypes in everyday life.
