Annotated Bibliography (rough draft) Essay
Inside the passage “Shitty First Drafts” by Anne Lamott from Bird simply by Bird, mcdougal promotes that “shitty initial drafts” are the key to the majority of successful components of writing. Lamott indicates that most writers possess “shitty 1st drafts” which “all good writers publish them”(21. ) In order to have a great piece of writing 1 must vomit all of their ideas onto conventional paper.

Lamott’s friend calls this the down draft (25. ) In this draft you should get all your thoughts down, even though you sound like a child (22. ) The initially draft isn’t going to make much sense however it doesn’t matter because no one is going to see it(23. ) With this kind of “down draft” you can edit it and organize your ideas into the up draft (25. ) “The up draft” is where you take every one of the good things from “the down draft” and write a great organized draft that makes far more sense. “You try to declare what you have to say more accurately”(25. ) There after comes this individual dental draft, a draft where you nit-pick and refine every aspect of the writing, like how a dentist would “check every tooth, to see if it were loose or cramped or decayed”(25, twenty six. ) With any luck , the final method a “healthy” piece of writing. Lamott successfully asserted that a “shitty first draft” is the beginning a great piece of writing so you just “need to get started on somewhere”(25, 21. )
