The Grassland of the 1930’s was a regrettable combination of all-natural occurrences, combined with the nation’s above aspiring avarice. Our region began westward expansion with the dream of progressing product sea to ocean. The large number of Grassland refugees built receiving and retaining a job super competitive, leaving thousands of refugees destitute. This resulted in many Californian’s being left with feelings of hostility, yet also to a new genre in materials which became known as American classics. The theme of break down, greed, and ruin used in articles and many other art forms right now prized and seen as lessons today.
I think if the country would in reality had been quicker to pick up for the need for agricultural reform than this tragedy would not reach such disastrous heights. Millions of dollars would have recently been saved, allowing our economic system to recover sooner from the Great Depression instead of worsening it. The complete ruin of agriculture, and means of food for our country, and many others in the world would have been replenished, likewise securing our economy. Lastly the relocation of millions of refugees leaving many destitute, and traditional western states overpopulated could have been avoided. The impaired optimism, greed, and pride in Grassland farmers was obviously a dangerous blend that almost self-destructed each of our country in to ruins.
